Big John McAfee

Another tragedy has struck the motorcycling community Friday with the passing of John McAfee. The accident occurred on I-44 near SW 89th, no other vehicles were involved. Big John has been a long time supporter of the Downed Bikers Association, and also a member of the American Legion. This past summer, John was elected to the DBA board as Referee for 2004. John was a skilled mechanic and enjoyed working on his stable of motorcycles. John was more than happy to lend his expertise to help another motorcyclist work on their bike.

We love you bro,

I have known John all my life, we grew up next door to each other. Although I am into 4 legged horses, we still had fun on his Harley. He took me to Robbers Cave Rally a couple of years ago, where I got to meet many of his DBA biker friends, and I saw right away why he talked so highly of the DBA. Working week-ends kept me from going with him very often, but he would tell me all about the trips. Thanks for being his friend!

John my friend - what can I say.... I always enjoyed our many rides. Whether around Oklahoma or New York or the WALL. Thousands of miles, thru hot, wet, cold.... didn't matter.... we just chugged along. That created a bond I'm gonna miss. A trust I could depend on. A close friend who will forever be - unforgettable.

Adios for now,
Dennis
