The Downed Bikers Founding Chapter's Sgt-at-Arms David Jaggers was involved in a fatal crash on I-44 Friday (10/17/03) afternoon. David lived his life as a biker and left this world that way. Jaggers selflessly donated his time, his heart and soul to this organization. Instead of being missed as a valuable member of the DBA, he will be missed more as our friend. Our deepest sympathies and prayers go out to wife Denise and family. A memorial fund for the Jaggers Family has been set up at Frontier State Bank P.O. Box 95329, OKC, OK. 73143.

We will miss you Bro

I will miss David, he was one of the people I first met after I returned to riding.

In 1971 my younger brother (Doug) and I were out riding our Suzuki 90s. We met up with this skinny red headed kid named David Jaggers. David didn’t have a bike at that time. But man did he like’em. We became good friends and David rode many a mile on the back of that Suzuki with me. I can remember David and Doug wrestling in the hall of my mother’s house one day and I heard this big crash. I walk into the hall and see this perfect imprint of my little brother in the sheetrock. It looked like something out of a cartoon. It was a good thing David’s Dad was a fair hand with sheetrock. He saved our butt’s that day. We rode down a good number of the roads of life together in our younger days. I was with him the first time he fell in love and the first he got his heart broke. You’ll never meet a man with a bigger heart then David. David never once gave me a hard time about riding old rice burners. Tomorrow I’ll knock the dust off my old 1976 KZ900 and go pay my respects to a fine man and this next weekend I plan to help celebrate his life. Cheers to one of the good guys.

My Condolences,
Steve Underwood

David, your the only one who could get me to write anything on a damned computer. I'm gonna miss your spur jingling when you stroll into the bar. And the way you hugged someone when shaking their hand. Sure you had an opinion on stuff....but, you were open to others opinion as well....I always respected that. You covered my back one night when I dealt with a drunk in a bar and it was comforting knowing my friend was there. Now, all of us who ride tomorrow will know you got our back covered still. I'd request you as my guardian-angel anytime.

I cannot and will never forget David Jaggers and the impression he has made on my life. My life will be better in the future because I had the chance to get to know David and learn from him. I am honored that I had the opportunity in the past 2 years to serve with him on the Downed Bikers Association Executive Board. I had many chances to talk to David on an individual basis and will miss these times to no end. I truly know he was completely devoted to the (DBA) and the helping of others. David can never be replaced and I will miss him immensely. By the way David thanks for coining my bike the "Geezer Glide" Ride on Brother and may the wind always be buffeted by that big bald head. We will see each other again someday so have me a bike ready for another road trip.

Your friend and brother always!!

(DBA) Vice President 2003

I'll miss you David. You were one of the first Downed Bikers Association members that I met. You were friendly and invited me to become a part of the organization and I will be forever grateful to you for that. I always enjoyed the DBA runs when you would say the starting time was "When I finish this beer". You've finished your beer and now you're leading the Angels on a "great run"..RIDE ON BRO!!!
